Picture this: Saturday, October 3, 2020 – Day 12 of my epic 102-day streak of consecutive half marathons! Yes, you read that right. I was going for the Guinness World Record for the most half marathons run by a woman. Talk about a bold adventure!
The weather? Mother Nature wasn’t playing nice! She unleashed a non-stop, relentless rainstorm. Most runners bailed – some didn’t even showed up, others came but quickly opted for dry, cozy shelter. A few brave souls joined for a sprint, then bolted for cover. It was the ultimate test of dedication!
But not me! No way, not when there were rhinos to champion and a goal to smash. I strapped on my running shoes, grit in my heart and purpose blazing. Lucky for me, two fierce friends stuck by my side, finishing that soggy, wild race with smiles and style.
Rain had poured all night, and we began wading through ankle-deep water. The storm just kept coming, transforming familiar roads into wild rivers. Muddy puddles popped up everywhere – and yes, we gleefully leapt into them like mischievous kids! We made the chaos fun, because our mission was bigger than soggy socks – it was for the rhinos!
That day, I chose purpose over comfort – and I’ve kept choosing it ever since! I finished that half marathon with flair, rain-soaked but unstoppable. When you know who you are and why you move, everything changes. Purpose becomes your superpower; once you’re clear on your values, strengths, and quirks, choosing purpose over comfort is second nature. It’s simply fabulous!
Suddenly, you stop letting titles, roles, or anyone else’s opinions define your worth. You become a true athlete of the mind, a genuine leader – doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching. That’s where the magic happens!
You become your own fabulous accountability partner, holding yourself to dazzlingly high standards. Purpose keeps you moving long after motivation runs dry (pun intended!) or comfort tempts you. You don’t give in – you finish everything you start, every time!
Purpose doesn’t have to be loud, sparkly, or showy – just genuine. When meaning fuels your actions, discipline feels like a breeze, courage is always close by, and comfort fades away.
Even setbacks become lessons, not failures. Now that’s fabulous!
And remember, this isn’t just a one-time show – it’s a daily practice of living your purpose, with fun and flair!
